How to Prevent Spam Form Submissions

Spam submissions can clutter your forms and compromise data quality, but Woorise offers powerful tools to prevent them. With features like honeypot fields, CAPTCHA, and email verification, you can block bots and fake entries effortlessly while keeping the process smooth for genuine users.

Woorise also provides advanced options like country restrictions, submission limits, input masks, and AI-powered spam detection to give you full control over your forms. Whether you’re targeting specific regions or securing sensitive pages, these tools ensure only high-quality, legitimate submissions make it through.

Honeypot

Woorise includes a honeypot field by default on all forms to prevent spam submissions. A honeypot is a hidden field that is invisible to real users but detectable by bots. If a bot fills out the field, the form submission is automatically rejected, ensuring only genuine entries are processed.

CAPTCHA

Woorise integrates with Google Invisible reCAPTCHA and Cloudflare Turnstile to enhance spam protection. Unlike most traditional CAPTCHAs, they operate silently in the background and only appear if the algorithm detects suspicious behavior. This ensures robust security without affecting the user experience. You can enable the CAPTCHA from the Form settings.

Email verification

Woorise includes an Email Verification feature that allows users to verify their email addresses. When enabled, this feature sends a verification email to participants after they submit the form. The entry remains in an “unverified” status until the participant confirms their email address.

This feature is incredibly useful for ensuring data quality, preventing fake or invalid email submissions, and improving deliverability for follow-up communications. It also helps build trust and engagement with genuine participants.

For instructions on enabling email verification, refer to this guide.

Country restriction

Country Restriction feature allows you to control the availability of your forms based on location. You can select specific countries where your form will be accessible, ensuring it targets the right audience. Users attempting to access the form from restricted countries will see the following default message. This feature is ideal for region-specific campaigns and compliance with location-based regulations.

You can enable the Country restriction from the Form settings.

Please note that while this feature is effective in most cases, it may not be foolproof. Tools such as VPNs, proxies, or other location-masking methods may allow users to bypass these restrictions.

Limit submissions

The Limit Submissions feature lets you set advanced rules to control form submissions. You can restrict suspicious entries by setting limits based on IP addresses, email addresses, or other field values, ensuring only legitimate submissions are processed. Time-based limits can also be applied to further reduce spam activity. Additionally, notifications can alert administrators when submission limits are reached, enabling proactive monitoring of form activity.

For more details on configuring the Limit submissions feature, refer to this guide.

Password protect

Woorise allows you to protect your landing page using a password. Only users with that password can access the page.

To set a password for your landing page navigate to the Create tab and click the Status on the right sidebar.

When users visit the landing page they will see the following message. They have to provide the password to access the page. Team members they always have access to the page while they are logged in to their Woorise accounts.

Fields logic & masking

Fields logic

Using conditional logic rules in the form fields or in the submit button you can prevent users from submitting disallowed data. For example, you could hide the submit button if the email field contains a specific domain, an improper word entered in a Paragraph text field or a specific link entered in a Website field.

Input masks

The Single Line Text field supports input masks, which provide a visual guide to help users enter data in a specific format, such as dates or phone numbers. By enforcing these predefined formats, input masks not only improve the user experience but also enhance form security. They prevent users from entering incorrectly formatted or illegitimate data, reducing errors and minimizing the risk of spam or malicious entries. This ensures that only valid, properly structured data is submitted through your forms.

AI spam protection

Woorise also offers advanced AI-powered spam protection to secure your forms from both bot and manual submissions. This feature automatically detects and marks entries as spam if they contain suspicious elements, such as spam email addresses, inappropriate keywords, or malicious links.

Available exclusively on the Pro plan upon request, this tool ensures your forms only collect legitimate and high-quality submissions, providing robust protection against unwanted or harmful entries.
